When we say underfloor heating, we usually mean undertile warming, this is because most houses already have a primary heating source - i.e. Central Heating. What most people want is not to be shocked awake in the middle of the night when walking into the Bathroom or Kitchen.
Undertile warming is a gentle low wattage system (low running costs), generally only a couple of degrees warmer than body temperature, because heat rises you will find you turn the radiator down where you have "underfloor heating" fitted.
For new well insulated properties buy 100W per square metre
For good heat output and economical to run 150W per square metre*
For older "cold" properties buy 200W per square metre
* Run at 18.5° - 21.0°C for a pleasant background heat without high fuel bills
